Opposition Leader Denies Involvement in Age Limit Bill Reintroduction

BY ISHMAEL CHIMWAZA

Kondwani Nankhumwa, who leads the Opposition in Parliament, has rejected claims that he is leading a movement to bring back the Age Limit Bill in Parliament.

In a statement given to us today, Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa said these rumors are false and advised the public to pay no attention to them.

He also claimed that some members of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) were incorrectly using his name in relation to the proposed reintroduction of the Age Limit Bill to try to win political support from the people.

Nankhumwa restated his dedication to political competition and said he is prepared to face any rivals, including Peter Mutharika, in the 2025 presidential elections. His remarks come as activists and religious leaders caution Members of Parliament to focus on urgent matters that tackle the country's social and economic challenges instead of the Age Limit Bill.
