Expelled DPP Politician Kondwani Nankhumwa Launches New Party, People's Development Party (PDP)

In a surprise move, former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) member and Mulanje Central parliamentarian, Kondwani Nankhumwa, has announced the formation of his own political party, the People's Development Party (PDP). This comes after his expulsion from the DPP earlier this year.

Nankhumwa made the announcement on his official Facebook page, stating that the PDP is committed to bringing about real change and development to the people of Malawi. He expressed his gratitude to his supporters and urged them to join him in this new political journey.

The launch of the PDP is seen as a significant development in Malawi's political landscape, as Nankhumwa has been a prominent figure in the country's opposition. His expulsion from the DPP was widely reported, and many have been speculating about his next move.

Nankhumwa's decision to form his own party is likely to shake up the political landscape, as he is expected to attract a significant following from his former party and beyond. The PDP's policies and manifesto are yet to be announced, but Nankhumwa has promised to prioritize the needs and concerns of the Malawian people.

The development has sparked mixed reactions from political analysts and commentators, with some hailing Nankhumwa's move as a bold and necessary step, while others have expressed skepticism about the viability of the new party.
