President Lazarus Chakwera has lauded philanthropist Thomson Mpinganjira for transforming personal loss into a public good by building a cancer treatment center for numerous Malawians in memory of his late wife who succumbed to the disease.
The International Blantyre Cancer Center (IBCC) was officially inaugurated by Chakwera in Blantyre, where he emphasized that the battle against cancer cannot be won solely by the government.
Chakwera highlighted ongoing efforts by the government, stating, "While the National Cancer Control Program (NCCP) is nearing completion of the National Cancer Center in Lilongwe, our goal is to ensure accessible support for all cancer patients within the country by 2030."
