The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has intensified its efforts to rally support for its candidates ahead of the forthcoming by-elections in Karonga. Encouraging prospective voters in the local government by-elections to cast their votes for the party's candidates, MCP aims to secure a mandate for substantial development initiatives.
At a political rally hosted at Ntchowo Primary School, MCP's Director of Campaign, Moses Kunkuyu, highlighted that the raise in the Constituency Development Fund to K200 million in the current budget is geared towards facilitating the flow of development to rural communities. This move aims to ensure tangible and sustainable progress reaches the grassroots level.
Key personalities present at the rally included Dr. Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, and Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka, underscoring the party's united front in engaging with voters and promoting its agenda.
MCP is set to hold its final rally at Ngalamu Primary School as part of its comprehensive campaign strategy to reach out to the electorate effectively.
The upcoming by-elections will be conducted in Rukuru, Chilanga, and Kaporo wards, setting the stage for a critical electoral contest in Karonga.
