The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has rescheduled its planned blue convoy parade in Machinga from today, Sunday, to tomorrow, Monday, citing unforeseen circumstances as the reason for the decision.
In a brief statement, the DPP's regional governor for the eastern region, Emran Ntenje, confirmed the change in schedule but assured that all other details for the parade, including rallying supporters to register for national identity cards for the upcoming 2025 general elections, remain unchanged.
The decision to postpone comes after a previous event held by the DPP in Lilongwe on February 24, which was overshadowed by acts of political violence as unidentified individuals targeted some DPP supporters.
