"DPP prominent members expelled"

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has expelled a number of high-ranking members, including Leader of Opposition Kondwani  Nankhumwa, Vice President Grezelder Jeffrey, and National Publicity Secretary Nicholas Harry Dausi.

In addition, the party has fired several presidential advisors and national governing council members, as well as other senior officials. The expulsions and suspensions are the result of a dispute within the party over leadership and policy issues.

The DPP has stated that it will continue to focus on uniting the party. A number of additional DPP members have been suspended and removed from their positions, including Henry Matemba, Joseph Mabvuto Kachali, Kondwani Ng’ong’ola, Shafee Khamisa, Brave Mkwezalamba, Marriam Chimbalanga, Dumisani Lindani, Baxter Kita, and Lameck Rajab Malimba.

The Central Committee, which has the power to receive and consider recommendations from the DPP's disciplinary committee, decided on these actions at a meeting on 20th January. DPP spokesperson Shadric Namalomba has called on party members to respect and follow the committee's resolutions, avoid misconduct, and refrain from disrespecting the party's leadership at any level. He stated that the party will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against anyone who engages in misconduct.

This statement serves as a warning to party members to behave appropriately and maintain the integrity of the party. The disciplinary committee's actions demonstrate the party's commitment to maintaining a high standard of conduct.
